Question about fan header

Hello!

The fan header are always on Or I have to solder something to tell the board to switch them on?

It says something about 3 modes of operation, but how do you set the board in different modes for the fan header?

If you solder on just the fan header you need to solder the jumper that connects it directly to 12V as well, then the fan will be always on with no speed control.
For any other mode of operation the fan control header is provided for a hypothetical fan control PCB to be attached, which would be able to do either PWM speed control or voltage based speed control (for PWM the 12V also needs to be jumped just like the no speed control configuration)
